10.5 acre out of doors “Journey Park” with cover walks and extra proposed for Columbus space – 614NOW

Your next great adventure could come to Westerville.

Yesterday, the City of Westerville announced that it will hold a public meeting to consult with the Westerville community on the proposed addition of a 25-acre outdoor recreation area called Edge Adventure Park.

The meeting will take place on January 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the Westerville Community Center.

According to the City of Westerville, Edge Adventure Park would be located in a 10.5-acre wooded ravine between Vesper Way and Cleveland Avenue.

While information is still being gathered from community members to determine what they would like to see developed in the park (this is one of the purposes of the January 12 meeting), the park may include treetop walkways, hiking trails and adventure playgrounds. in addition to connecting with the Alum Creek Trail and the Westar area.

The western end of the proposed park is connected to waterways and canyons that stretch throughout the city, and its location on the west bank of Alum Creek would connect the park to a proposed Rapid 5 waterway corridor.
