Tri An, around 75 km from Saigon, is one of the largest artificial lakes in Southeast Asia.
Located on the Dong Nai River, the lake stores water for the Tri An Hydroelectric Power Station and is blessed with around 40 islets, of which Dong Truong and O are the most popular with their pristine beauty.
Both islands are located in Vinh Cuu District, Dong Nai Province. At a wharf in Dong Truong, visitors can rent a boat or canoe for VND110,000-130,000 to glide across the lake’s crystal blue waters on a 40-minute trip to O Island, just off Dong Truong.
If you want to stay overnight, you can rent a boat.
As the islands remain unknown and undeveloped, visitors must bring their own supplies such as food, water and other camping necessities.
