Calallen advanced to the Class 4A State Championship Game in 2021 with a core group of young players, and on Wednesday four of those players were named to the 2022 Hooks South Texas Preseason Large School All-Star Softball Team.
Senior pitching ace Breanna Ford, second baseman Alaunah Almaraz, shortstop Raegan Tennill and sophomore third baseman Megan Geyer were named to the team. Tennill was a 2020 selection.
Carroll, Flour Bluff and Tuloso-Midway each had two selections on the team, including Cherokee catcher Reese Atwood, who was a three-time selection.
