KIGWEMA, JUNE 26 (MExN): The Alpine Open Scouts and Guides unit’s seven-day annual Camping 2022 kicked off June 22 at St Edmund’s School Kigwema, a few kilometers from Kohima town. A total of 50 campers are taking part in the camp, which will culminate on June 28th.

A press release informed that Ashikho, guest of honor at the camp and principal of Holy Family Higher Secondary School, Kohima, in his opening speech today, referred to Scouts and Guides as agents of peace.

Scouting is for development in the area, he said, urging campers to attend camp seriously and responsibly.

While admiring the work of Samuel Mezhür Sekhose, who was a Silver Elephant Awardee from Bharat Scouts and Guides, the Headmaster also briefed campers on the Scout movement in India and Nagaland.

Earlier, Assistant State Training Commissioner (Scouts) Kekhrieselhou Theünuo gave a welcoming address, while Unit Administrator and Assistant State Organizing Commissioner (Scouts) Imlisunep Imchen gave the introduction and information about the camp.

The speech on behalf of the State Headquarters of Bharat Scouts and Guides was delivered by State Organizing Commissioner (Guide) Vimezhonu, while Assistant Leader Trainer (Scout) Om Prakash Gupta delivered a vote of thanks.

The seven-day meeting was attended by ASTC(S) Chief Executive Officer Om Prakash Gupta, DOC(S) Inato Sema, Tsipise ASO(S) Kiphire and Vimezhonu Tetso SOC(G).
