Anantnag climbers shine in Climbing C’ship – Jammu Kashmir Newest Information | Tourism

JAMMU, March 26: Anantnag climbers including Faizan Ahmad Khan, Mohd Ridhwan and Ityas Ahmad each won the 1st day of the 2nd J&K UT Sport Climbing Championship which started today at Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab here first three medals in the mini boys category.
In the mini girls category, Ananya from Kishtwar emerged as the winner while 2nd and 3rd places were taken by Sheikh Hafza from Pulwama and Saanvi Bandral from Udhampur, also Sukriti Kumari and Namrita Singh from Jammu district took 1st and 2nd th place and Ulfat Farooq from Budgam stayed third while in the juniors Kashish Bharti and Yuvraj Kumar from Jammu district took the first two medals while Mohd Aasif Bhat from Pulwama took the bronze medal.
Earlier the championship was declared open by Raghav Langer, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, in the presence of Zorawar Singh Jamwal, President; Ram Khajuria, Senior Vice President; Sumit Khajuria, Vice President and other officers of the J&K Mountaineering Association, along with the host school’s President, Rahul Sharma.
Bantalab Arti Sharma, Director of Apple Kids International Pre-School, attended the occasion alongside Prof. Suman Lata from GDC Parade Jammu and Prof. Harpal Singh from GDC Katra.
The main guest recognized the Association’s achievements in sport climbing, particularly the rise of J&K climbers to the international level and the ascent of Everest by many of the Association’s climbers.
