climbing the ladder to 80 this week

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) — Their initial alert forecast begins with a cool start in the 40s and 50s for the new work and school week with a cool and crisp mid and high 60s and low 70s by the end of the day. Expect variable cloudy skies, but unlikely to need an umbrella for the first week.

Winds will be blustery at first, with a low pressure system offshore. It will roil coastal waters so expect rip currents to remain elevated throughout the weekend.

Changes are imminent as the highs regain a footing in the 70s on Tuesday and rise to near 80 on Friday. Humidity and the chance of thunderstorms will also rise by then, marking a return to a restless summer feeling.
