Cuyahoga Falls occasion to spotlight outside recreation alternatives July 2

CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio – Cuyahoga Falls will host an Outdoor Rec Fest on Saturday, July 2 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in downtown Cuyahoga Falls to celebrate outdoor recreation opportunities in the city and northeast Ohio .

The event will highlight hiking, biking, tubing, kayaking, fishing and rock climbing, according to a press release.

“Exciting outdoor recreation opportunities in Cuyahoga Falls are expanding for residents and visitors alike,” Mayor Don Walters said in a press release. “With 26 neighborhood parks, biking and hiking trails, and a variety of activities along the beautiful Cuyahoga River like swimming, fishing, kayaking, tubing, and rock climbing, our city has something for every outdoor enthusiast.”

The city plans to allow rock climbing at High Bridge Glens Park in the future, according to a Facebook post. The Ohio Climbers Coalition is installing upper anchors in two locations and plans to add more, the post said. Information will be posted on ohioclimberscoalition.org and mountainproject.com when the trail, climbing map and directions are complete.
