Delaware North acquires Colorado out of doors recreation and journey tour firm Nova Guides and Camp Hale Weddings

Global hospitality and entertainment company Delaware North today announced it has acquired Nova Guides, based in Red Cliff, Colorado, a premier full-service outdoor leisure and adventure travel company with exclusive wedding and accommodation offerings. The acquisition makes Delaware North one of the largest providers of outdoor winter recreation and adventure tours in the United States.

Perfectly located near Vail, Colorado, Nova Guides’ expansive property includes a main lodge with a restaurant and retail store, and a selection of accommodation options including three two-bedroom cabins, one five-bedroom house and one two-bedroom house A house.

Nova Guides has been in operation for more than 35 years and is known for its summer ATV/UTV tours and rentals, winter snowmobile and snow bus tours and rentals, and private fly fishing and archery lessons. Tours are operated with special permits in and around the White River National Forest, giving Nova Guides access to 55,000 acres of remote and scenic forest land, allowing adventurers to customize their itinerary based on personal preference.

On campus, Delaware North will also operate Camp Hale Weddings, a hugely popular wedding company located on 80 privately owned acres. The wedding experience includes the unique Ceremony Island, an exclusive location on a man-made lake with majestic views of the Rocky Mountains. The site is known for its rich history dating back to World War II where it served as a former training ground for the 10th Mountain Division.

“Today’s outdoor recreational guest seeks real experiences that are personalized and meaningful,” said Scott Socha, group president of Delaware North’s Parks and Resorts Division. “Our existing portfolio of unique touring and adventure offerings is well positioned for continued growth, and the addition of this unique, full-service experience reflects our optimism about the future of outdoor recreation and adventure travel.”

The growing Delaware North portfolio of dynamic adventure travel offerings, now spanning four destinations, helps travelers experience the best of the great outdoors. The company’s current tour collection includes Yellowstone Vacation Tours, the largest outdoor leisure and adventure travel company serving Yellowstone National Park, Montana, as well as a variety of offerings outside of Yosemite National Park, California, and also on the Lake shore Erie in Ohio.

The acquisition will also expand Delaware North’s existing presence in Colorado, where the Company owns and operates the Ridgeline Hotel Estes Park® and the Trendz at the Park retail store in Estes Park, a popular gateway community to Rocky Mountain National Park. Delaware North’s travel division has also operated several dining concepts at Denver International Airport since it opened in 2018, including the award-winning Denver Central Market.

The Nova Guides complex is operated by Delaware North’s Parks and Resorts Division, which owns and operates hotels and other lodging experiences primarily in and near national and state parks and cultural attractions. The portfolio includes nearly 25 lodging locations across the United States, Australia and New Zealand representing more than 3,000 lodging units.
