ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is now accepting preliminary applications for the Federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant program.
This process allows local governments to receive grants to create new outdoor recreation spaces, revitalize existing parks and create connections between people and nature.
DNR accepts applications until November 1, 2022.
Municipalities and counties are eligible for up to a 50% grant from the LWCF, funded by the National Park Service.
Project sponsors must match the grant award 1:1 with non-federal dollars. Local Matching Funds may include funds received from DNR through the Open Space Local program or Community Parks and Playground programs.
Funding requests to the LWCF can range from $50,000 to $1 million.
Interested jurisdictions should complete the project documentation and send it to Andrew Mengel at [email protected]
Visit the Maryland DNR Land and Water Conservation Fund website for more details and application information.
