US Sen. Joe Manchin (DW.Va.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources, welcomed the announcement by the Federal Interagency Council on Outdoor Recreation (FICOR). This new multi-agency effort follows the leadership of Manchin’s bipartisan America’s Outdoor Recreation Act and will aim to improve the coherence of federal agencies’ outdoor recreation policies while improving infrastructure and driving economic growth in rural communities.
“I am pleased that the government is following the example of my bipartisan America’s Outdoor Recreation Act to invest wisely in our growing outdoor recreation economy and provide economic boost to our local communities,” Manchin said in a press release. “As Chair of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and a lifelong outdoorsman, I look forward to seeing the positive impact of FICOR and will continue to work with my colleagues to ensure my bipartisan bill goes into effect.”
