Georgetown Parks and Recreation Publicizes Day Camps

The Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department will be offering day camps for students during the upcoming Georgetown ISD college vacation. Pricing and schedules vary for each program.

Participants can choose from four camps:

  • Camp Goodwater is offered at the Georgetown Recreation Center December 19-23, January 26-30 and January 2-3 for children ages 5-12. In order to be able to participate, the children currently have to attend kindergarten. The program runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The camp includes outdoor activities, fitness games and seasonal crafts, among other activities. Daily fees are $40 for Georgetown residents and $50 for non-residents.
  • Youth Tennis Academy will be held at the Georgetown Tennis Center on June 26-30. December 9-11 for 7-10 year olds and 1-3pm for 11-15 year olds. This camp focuses on the fundamentals of shot generation, conditioning, movement, footwork, tactics and strategy. Daily fees are $20 for Georgetown residents and $25 for non-residents.
  • volleyball camp will be offered at the Georgetown Recreation Center on December 19 and 20 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for children ages 7 to 15. The camp covers the rules of the game for beginners and defense and positions for advanced players. Fees are $55 for Georgetown residents and $75 for non-residents.
  • basketball camp will be offered at the Georgetown Recreation Center December 27-29 from 9am-12pm for children ages 6-16. The camp offers participants the opportunity to improve ball handling, shooting, footwork, defense techniques and other game-related training. Fees are $100 for Georgetown residents and $125 for non-residents.
