HAIKOU / China / December 5 / TASS /. China’s first sporting goods and sports equipment exhibition took place in Haikou City, southern Hainan Province, from December 3rd to 5th, according to the Hainan International Communications Network.
The three-day exhibition was held at the city’s International Convention and Exhibition Center, which was attended by eight international groups of exhibitors and more than 300 companies from China and other countries and regions. It was the first exhibition in Hainan to be dedicated to imported goods and equipment for sports.
“Since high quality development of sport depends on the provision of advanced sporting goods, equipment and technology, as well as promoting sporting culture, this exhibition, together with Hainan Olympic Sports Science and Technology Forum, will promote the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022,” said Yu Zaiqing , Executive Vice President of the International Olympic Committee and member of the Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, in a message of congratulations to the exhibitors and organizers.
The total exhibition area was 37 thousand square meters. The pavilions displayed a wide range of sports products and equipment from both foreign and joint Sino-foreign brands. Thanks to the duty-free trade policy in Hainan, trade fair visitors had the opportunity to buy the goods in the exhibition complex duty-free.
