MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) – Lots of sunshine, southeasterly winds, and highs that will soar into the 90’s for some of you on this Memorial Day!

TODAY

It’s a warm start and the highs are set to increase not just for today but as the week progresses. Our winds have shifted from the SE so highs may climb into the low to mid 80s on the beaches this afternoon. Moving inland, temperatures will soar into the low 90s today under mostly sunny skies.

It’s a nice memorial day for all plans. Be sure to take some time to get outside today.(WMBF)

We removed the chance of rain from the forecast for the beaches, but kept an isolated chance of showers for inland areas. We have just enough humidity to squeeze out an isolated chance of showers along the inland sea breeze today. Overall, most of us stay warm and dry!

IN THIS WEEK

The offshore high pressure will continue to pump in plenty of heat, tropical wetness and humidity mid and late in the week! Highs will respond quickly, rising with nighttime values in the low 70’s on the beaches and the high 60’s inland. Not only will the nights be warm and muggy, but there will be plenty of heat and humidity on those afternoons.

We’re warming up for midweek!(WMBF)

Highs will rise into the mid-upper 80s for the beaches by Friday. It will feel more and more like summer in the first days of June. Inland, mid and late week highs will rise into the low to mid 90s with plenty of sunshine. We remain rain-free until Thursday.

Get ready for the humidity! Another round of this is coming!Get ready for the humidity! Another round of this is coming!(WMBF)

NEXT CHANCE OF RAIN

The next best chance of rain this week is on Friday. An approaching cold front brings the best chances on Friday afternoon and in the evening hours. There’s still not enough guidance and confidence to forecast a washout for any Friday plans. At the moment, scattered showers and storms appear to be developing on both Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon. If you have plans, don’t cancel them. The highs will fall from the high 80’s on Friday to the low 80’s on Saturday. At the moment, Friday has the best chance of rain at 40%.

Our next rain chance for best odds comes on Friday. Our next rain chance for best odds comes on Friday.(WMBF)

We will be monitoring the incoming data throughout the week to refine this forecast for the end of the week and weekend plans.
