Himachal Pradesh units up checkpost to control trekking & tenting actions | Shimla Information

MANALI: Himachal Pradesh’s first check post to regulate trekking and camping activities was set up on the Hamta Pass trekking route on Monday. It is planned to install more such posts in the future to control tourism activities in the forest areas of Kullu-Manali region.
Strict environmental regulation controls have been implemented in trekking and camping in Kullu District, where most of the routes are under pressure. When camping in the forest, music is not allowed and rubbish must be brought with you. From now on there will be a ban on disturbing wildlife and herbal plants and it will be mandatory to only hire an experienced guide from a registered travel agency. Hikers must have all the necessary equipment, and camping is not allowed near rivers and nullahs.
