SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS, May 27 — The Illinois Conservation Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2022 Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame.
Since 2002, the foundation has recognized individuals who have provided exemplary service and made a commitment to improving conservation efforts and outdoor recreation opportunities in Illinois.
Some initiates touched the lives of thousands of youth and adults by promoting fishing, hunting, conservation and safety education. Others led efforts to conserve or enhance fish and wildlife habitat and to protect and restore Illinois’ lakes and rivers. Some candidates are national and international leaders in conservation or advocates of outdoor heritage traditions. All have set a personal example and serve as role models for future generations of conservationists and outdoor enthusiasts.
Selected nominees will be inducted into the Illinois Outdoor Hall of Fame at the Illinois Conservation Foundation’s annual Outdoor Hall of Fame Gala in spring 2023.
Since 1995, the Illinois Conservation Foundation, a non-profit IRS organization, has worked with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to raise financial resources to protect and enhance Illinois’ natural wonders.
