Live performances, a square dance class, a car show (yes, an indoor car show), ice fishing, skiing…whether it’s outdoor recreation or indoor events and activities…even in those cold winter months, there’s always something to do on the weekends to do in Fremont County! But… here’s a reminder, please be careful on the roads, plan ahead and prepare before you set off, and drive smart, slow and safe! Nothing can ruin a day, week or weekend like an accident or getting stuck. Safety first!
It’s all over the news and social media…it’s “no yolk” that eggs are golden these days. But hey, look at the sunny side… we have our “eggcellent” farmers markets and local producers who stock these little golden treasures, so make some time to head to your own local market this weekend to get a dozen or two!

Ice fishermen, have you “marked” your calendars? Midvale’s 12th Annual Benefit Ice Fishing Derby & Raffle? Pack your gear and hit Ocean Lake for a good cause all weekend this weekend, like this year’s Derby a fundraiser for Liam Winters, who lost a foot in a boating accident last summer. There will be trophies and awards, a chilli cookoff, a raffle and a silent auction. Tickets are only $15; For more information you can call the Midvale Store at 307-856-9911. NOTE: Be careful out there… Wyoming Fish & Game is preparing access points at Ocean Lake, but Ice fishers should take extra safety precautions.
the Friends of the Dubois Library is hosting a book fair Today from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Refreshments provided; Buy a book (or a few, or many) and support the great programs and activities the library has to offer!
The annual Lander Invitational Nordic Ski Racing are this weekend and start today at the Beaver Creek Nordic Trails. Meeting point for freestyle is today 11:00 am; The race starts at 12:00 p.m. Saturday’s events begin at 9:00 am Click here for complete information and timetables.

Rocky Mountain Rebels Indoor Winter Car Show begins at 8 a.m. at the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Riverton. Looks like there’s a 50 car limit, and I’m thinking… 50 cars… inside? wanna see that! Opera lovers… I don’t think you really need to wear a fedora, but if you have one (or even if you don’t have one)… the Lander Opera Group will be gathering today in the Carnegie Room at the Lander Library Live HD presentation of Fedora at the Metropolitan Opera ffrom 10:55 a.m. to 2:20 p.m., streamed live, from New York!
