<p>Innovate Alabama – the first nationwide public-private partnership focused on entrepreneurship, technology and innovation – has established a Council on Outdoor Recreation and an Advisory Roundtable of 19 stakeholders.</p>
<p>Following a 2021 report from Stanford University’s Hoover Institution that highlighted the importance of Alabama’s natural resources and outdoor recreation to the state’s economy, the Council and Roundtable convened its first meeting on Nov. 30 a.</p>
<p><strong>Purpose of the Council on Outdoor Recreation</strong></p>
<p>According to the Hoover Institution report, outdoor recreation in Alabama is key to unlocking a resilient and inclusive economy for innovators. </p>
<p>The Council on Outdoor Recreation’s role, through the new Roundtable, is to advise the Innovate Alabama Board of Directors on strategies to achieve three key goals:</p>
<ul>
<li>Expansion of the outdoor recreation industry in Alabama</li>
<li>Increasing the attractiveness of the country for skilled workers</li>
<li>Deliver significant value to rural and urban communities</li>
</ul>

<li>Bill Poole, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Innovate Alabama</li>
