  • John Hunter Nemechek and the #4 GEARWRENCH Team head to Homestead-Miami (Fla.) Speedway for the final race of the round of eight of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Playoffs. Nemechek goes into Saturday’s eliminator seventh on the playoff grid, but just five points below the cutoff line for promotion to Championship 4. The second-generation rider amassed 19 stage points in the final event at Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama ) after winning the opening stage and finishing second in stage two before spinning through the infield grass on the final lap and attempting to avoid The Big One, relegating him to a 24th place finishth– Finish place.

  • The 25-year-old driver has completed four Truck Series starts at Homestead-Miami, with a best finish of second place at the 2015 event. In those four starts, he has led 24 laps, one top 5 and two top 10s placements, resulting in an average score of 8.8. In his two starts in the Cup Series at the one and a half mile facility, Nemechek posted a best result of 19th at the June 2020 race. He has finished in the top-10 in his two homestead starts in the Xfinity series, with a best finish of 2018, third place.

  • While it’s been nearly two years since Nemechek last raced at Homestead-Miami, in September he competed in a two-day Next Gen Cup Series test session with 23XI Racing at the mile-and-a-half track.
  • As the Camping World Truck Series season draws to a close, Nemechek continues to lead the Truck Series regulars in pole (seven) and driver standings (104.3), while finishing second in average running position (8.937) and second in average Starting position (7.6) Third is laps led (372). Overall, he has two wins, nine top fives and 14 top 10 finishes over the 2022 Truck Series season, resulting in an 11.0 average score over 20 starts.

  • Nemechek is a 13-time winner in Camping World Truck Series action, winning at least one race every season for his family-run team NEMCO Motorsports from 2015-2018 and returning to winning ways with KBM in 2021 and 2022. In 145 career starts in NASCAR’s third division, he has compiled nine poles, 1,553 laps in the lead, 49 top 5 finishes and 80 top 10 finishes, resulting in an average score of 12.4.

  • Eric Phillips returned in 2022 to manage the No. 4 team. His 43 career Truck Series wins make him the most successful Crew Chief in Truck Series history, 34 of which came at KBM, including five last year. Phillips managed Team No. 18 at KBM in its debut 2010 season and helped build the organization into one of the premier teams in all of NASCAR before departing at the end of the 2014 season. Under his leadership, the No. 18 team won eight races in its inaugural campaign and was written into series history by winning an owner’s championship in its first competitive season. In 2014, the Illinois native led the first team on Team Truck No. 51 to an Owners’ Championship, and his team’s 10 wins led KBM to a year-long Truck Series record of 14 wins. At Homestead, Phillip’s riders have recorded one win, four top fives and seven top 10 finishes, resulting in an 8.3 average over 10 starts. He won the 1.5 mile oval in 2010 with KBM owner Kyle Busch.
  • The Toyota Racing driver made his 11th placeth The Xfinity Series kicked off the season and finished eighth with Sam Hunt Racing last weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with the #26 GR Supra. Nemechek qualified 11thth and was in the top 10 before a mid-race pit lane penalty threw him back and crossed the checkered flag in 16thth.
