FRONTENAC, Kan. – Girl Scouts made their annual trip to Friendship Fields Day Camp to explore the great outdoors.

Camp organizers say they have over thirty volunteers with 60 campers in grades K – 12.

Officials say some troops are traveling as far as Texas to attend the event.

“You know, it’s always great when a girl catches a fish for the first time or gets in a kayak or canoe for the first time or starts her first fire,” said camp director Jenny Gallet. “It’s all worth it, all the hours and time we put into planning makes it all worth it.”

The four-day camp includes activities such as:

  • kayaking
  • canoeing
  • fishing
  • camping
