L&C Recreation Weekend Area Events Slated | Community

Several events are planned for the Lewis & Clark Recreation Area west of Yankton this weekend:

• 09:00-14:00 — TEEN CAMP: For 11-14 years old. Join the naturalists for outdoor activities, games, crafts and more. Pre-registration is required. Call 605-668-2985 or register at the Lewis and Clark Welcome Center.

• 10:00 am and 11:00 am — ARCHERY: Pre-registration is required for children aged 8 and over. Call 605-668-2985 or register at the Lewis and Clark Welcome Center. Meet at Gavin’s Archery Range.

• 13:00-14:30 — PHOTOGRAPHY BODY HUNT AND FRAME MAKING: Learn some photography skills and create a frame to display your photos. Meet at the Lewis and Clark Amphitheater.

• 6-7pm – FIRE STARTERS: Join the naturalists and learn how to make homemade fire starters. They will make your own takeaway. Meet at the Chief White Crane Amphitheater

• 7-8pm – WALL POCKETS AND DREAM CATCHERS: Join the naturalists to learn about Native American culture and create a craft. Meet at the Chief White Crane Amphitheater

• 09:00, 10:00, 11:00 — WATERCRAFT: Pre-registration is required for children aged 8 and over. Call 605-668-2985 or register at the Lewis and Clark Welcome Center. Meet on the south side of Lake Yankton.

• 10:00-14:00 – NATIONAL PARK MOBILE RANGER STATION: Join the National Park Rangers and tour their mobile ranger station. Meet at Midway Beach

• 1:30-2:30pm – FISH PRINTS: Learn some facts about fish and create your own fish print. Meet at the Lewis and Clark Amphitheater.

• 19:00-20:30 – BOTTLE ROCKETS: Join the naturalists to design and build your own bottle rocket and then launch it into the sky. Meet at the Lewis and Clark Amphitheater

• 10:30 am – FREE CHURCH SERVICE: Pierson Ranch Amphitheater
