A man accused of jumping a barbed wire fence and climbing onto the wing of a private jet at Midway Airport on Tuesday afternoon has been charged, officials said.

After a court appearance Thursday, Javier Martinez, 33, was arraigned on one charge of criminal trespassing, the Chicago Police Department said in a press release.

According to Chicago police, Martinez appeared to be intoxicated when he climbed over the fence around the 5300 block of West 55th Street around 4:30 p.m.

He was spotted walking the runway before undressing and boarding the jet, police said.

He was taken to McNeal Hospital with minor injuries and was evaluated, officials said. Police determined that Martinez was taken into custody.
