Police in Southlake, Texas are looking for a man who allegedly tested a $ 6,000 bike and never came back.

At around 1:30 p.m. on May 15, a man browsing the REI store on 1011 East Southlake Boulevard asked for a test ride on an expensive Cannondale Jekyll Carbon 129 bicycle.

The staff usually allow test drives if the person can identify themselves, but this was not done in this case.

When the man got the bike, he drove out of the store and never came back.

Southlake police are hoping the public can help identify the man they referred to as Hispanic or Latino, who is about 6 feet tall. He was reportedly clean-shaven and wore gray shorts and a blue Under Armor long-sleeved shirt. According to the police, his ring finger indicated that he was married.

The bike is valued at $ 6,374.73.
