Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation opens swimming pools for summer time – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE — Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation has announced summer hours for its outdoor pools and Ramsey Creek Beach this Memorial Day weekend.

Pools will open on weekends starting this weekend and weekday openings will be added the week of June 13th.

The department said it plans to operate the pools at the following times:

Cordelia Swimming Pool: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 6pm

Double Oaks Family Aquatic Center: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m

Ramsey Creek Beach: Wednesday through Sunday from 12pm to 6pm

Channel 9 stopped by Cordelia Swimming Pool on Saturday and spoke to the head lifeguard as the pool opened for the season.

Stanley St. Vilus said it was nice to see the pool come back to life.

“It shows that in a way we are getting back to normal life. So it’s nice to see everyone out here back at full capacity. I think we’re back to 400. It’s kind of nice to see the normal lifestyle again,” Vilus said.

CATS will operate shuttles from Cornelius Park and Ride to Ramey Creek Beach on Memorial Day weekend, Fourth of July weekend and Labor Day weekend.

Admission to Cordelia and Double Oaks outdoor pools is $2 per person. Free park admission is required for Ramsey Creek Park Memorial Day through Labor Day.
