In partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), annual winners are recognized for achieving a positive or worthwhile outcome through community and teamwork

ROCKFORD, Mich., August 9, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Merrell®, the world’s leading outdoor footwear brand, has partnered with longtime nonprofit partner National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) to announce a unique annual award – the Changing the Nature of Work Award ( CNoW).

Our award is another way to recognize these professionals and the innovators and the work they do for their communities.”

The new award honors an individual or team who have shown perseverance while working in the unexpected, ever-changing nature. Winner’s work will demonstrate success in the changing nature of outdoor work that impacts the community, the environment or those around it including, but not limited to, resilience to natural disasters; promoting access to parks, shared paths and trails, or open spaces; or introducing strategies to improve personal safety in areas around parks, playgrounds or trails.

This is the first award Merrell is making in partnership with NRPA. The award winner will be sponsored with Merrell gear for a year and will receive $10,000 to advance a project or effort. Candidate must be affiliated with a local parks and recreation agency and be an NRPA member. Submissions will be accepted September 20 to October 21, 2022with the winner being announced at the end of November.
