Lincoln Parks and Recreation officials announced Wednesday that residents have until Oct. 12 to review and comment on the draft master plan for outdoor racket facilities.
The draft master plan for tennis and pickleball courts can be viewed at lincoln.ne.gov/racketplan. Local residents can comment on the website, email [email protected], or call 402-441-7847.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will consider acceptance of the plan at a public meeting on Thursday, October 13 at 4:00 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation Office at 31st and “O” St, Suite 300.
The plan is the result of a public consultation of 1,200 people and the advice of a working committee made up of community representatives. The master plan reviews existing conditions, considers the level of service required to serve the community, and makes recommendations for facility improvements and future additions.
It serves as a guide for the planning, design, construction and ongoing maintenance of these types of facilities and may be revised in the future to reflect changes in conditions, usage and available resources.
