Outdoor World Sporting Goods is conducting liquidation sales in its last store in Capitola, CA. The Santa Cruz, California store recently closed and a third location in Seaside, California never reopened after the pandemic hit.
According to its website, Outdoor World has “been a family-run camping, fishing, hunting, and sporting goods retail company in the Monterey Bay area of California for over forty years.”
Corresponding Good times Santa Cruz, Retailer President Chris Thomas attributed closings to the effects of Covid-19 restrictions, recent struggles to keep goods safe amid global supply chain challenges, and doing business in California. He also said he was about to retire. Thomas told the newspaper, “It has been great for the family and great to offer Santa Cruz the recreational activities we offer. but all in all it is about time. “
