Mountain Day highlights Berkshires outdoor economy

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) – Building on its efforts to highlight the outdoor recreation and music scene in the Berkshires, the Mill Town Foundation is hosting Mountain Day on July 30 at Bousquet Mountain. The all-day festival is complemented with live outdoor sports music and family fun on the mountain.

Activities begin with the Berkshire County Outdoor Recreation Summit from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., which will feature moderated talks on Berkshire’s outdoor economy, new projects in mountain biking and cycling, and new initiatives to celebrate outdoor recreation in the county . The ticketed Vendor Village opens at 1:00 p.m. with food trucks, beer tastings, outdoor clubs and retailers, equipment demonstrations, outdoor crafts and athletic training experiences.

The Clermont State Historic Site hosts local musical performances

The event will be headlined by the Whiskey Treaty Roadshow, a band comprised of Massachusetts songwriters Tory Hanna, Billy Keane, Chris Merenda, Greg Daniel Smith and David Tanklefsky. For seven and a half years, the band has been delighting regional and national audiences with their electric live shows, earning them slots at acclaimed festivals such as Green River Fest, Fresh Grass, Kate Wolf Memorial Music Festival, The Rock Boat, Strange Bach and others.

The concert is rain or shine. There will be limited seating on the terrace, subject to availability, but event hosts recommend bringing a blanket or deckchairs.
