A member of Team Goat Fort reaches new heights in the world of bouldering.

Natalie Muntz recently represented the team at the USA Climbing Region 62 Qualifier at Hoosier Heights in Carmel, Inc.

It took third place in its category.

“At only 9 years old, Natalie is one of our youngest athletes” That’s what coach Dana Harrington said. “So far this season she finished 16th in her first competition in Cleveland and just three weeks later she moved up to ninth in her second competition in Columbus.”

“This time, in her third climbing competition ever, she improved again and climbed to third place – only two points from first place”, said Harrington.

The relatively new Goat Fort team is rapidly growing into the sport.

“A lack of experience does not hold the Goat Fort team back” said Harrington. “With only two qualifiers remaining, Natalie and some of her teammates are able to qualify for the USA Climbing Region 62 Competition.”

The regional championships will be held on January 15 at Ascend, Pittsburgh.

The Goat Fort team was also back in action on Saturday at Iron City Boulders in Pittsburgh.
