For July 22-28, Carson City Health and Human Services reports 162 new cases and 74 additional recoveries from COVID-19 in the Quad-County area.
That brings the total number of cases to 13,493 with 12,946 recoveries and 233 deaths; 314 cases remain active.

Carson City had 51 new cases and 28 additional recoveries from COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Carson City is 8 new cases per day with a test positive rate of 11.5%.
Douglas County had 48 new cases and 31 additional recoveries from COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Douglas County is 5 new cases per day with a test positive rate of 11.0%.
Lyon County had 60 new cases and 12 additional recoveries from COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for the county of Lyon is 7 new cases per day with a test positive rate of 11.6%.
Storey County had 3 new cases and 3 additional recoveries from COVID-19 this week. The current 14-day moving average for Storey County is 0 new cases per day with a 0.0% test-positive rate.

COVID-19 vaccination update

As of July 28, 2021, quad county vendors had administered approximately 169,247 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. CCHHS has administered 68,998 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Approximately 73,729 Quad County residents have completed vaccination (received both doses of a 2-dose vaccine such as Pfizer or Moderna, or the single-dose Janssen vaccine) and 80,883 have started (received the first dose of a 2-dose series such as Pfizer or Moderna). The data is not CCHHS data and comes from the Nevada Health Response Dashboard, which can be found at https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/.
In Carson City, 28,830 residents have been fully vaccinated and 31,479 have started vaccinating. Approximately 57.63% of the population aged 12 and over have completed the vaccination.
In Douglas County, 22,572 residents have been fully vaccinated and 24,337 have started vaccinating. Approximately 51.16% of the population aged 12 and over have completed vaccination.
In the Lyon county, 21,676 residents have been fully vaccinated and 24,341 have started vaccination. Approximately 43.24% of the population aged 12 and over have completed vaccination.
In Storey County, 651 residents have been fully vaccinated and 726 have started vaccinating. Approximately 15.91% of the population aged 12 and over have completed vaccination.

Drive-through COVID-19 testing for people with symptoms or exposures
CCHHS will host COVID-19 testing events across the Quad County region. These events are for those who have symptoms of COVID-19 or have been exposed to someone with COVID-19. Tests are available on a first come, first served basis; no appointment or advance booking required.

CCHHS is resuming testing in our Cason City building. The test is for patients with symptoms and takes place one day a week by appointment only!
