ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division announced the three recipients of the 2021 Outdoor Recreation Division’s Business Accelerator Grants.
The grant program was created to fund accelerators that can help individuals and outdoor recreational companies improve their business plans, hire New Mexicans, and build the state’s reputation as a leader in the outdoor industry. This emerges from a press release from the Outdoor Recreation Division.
The department received 14 grant applications with requests that exceeded the amount of money available, according to the press release. The three applicants with the highest score were selected to receive an award of US $ 20,000 each. These recipients are as follows:
– New Mexico for Good, which offers certificate programs and offers two pilot courses: Introduction to the Outdoor Economy and Validation of an Outdoor Recreation Business Idea. Based on the success and interest in these two certificate programs, two additional certificates can be offered: Start of a successful outdoor leisure company and sustainability leadership in outdoor leisure.
Sandoval County, which, in partnership with nonprofit Creative Startups, will expand last year’s pilot to accelerate the use of online sales and marketing tools and platforms by Sandoval County’s outdoor and leisure businesses.
Arrowhead Center, which proposed an Outdoor Recreation Sprint Business Accelerator focused on starting and growing outdoor recreation businesses in southern New Mexico.
