ODNR Presents seventh Annual Ohio Ladies’s Out of doors Adventures Weekend

Columbus, Ohio – Ohio Women’s 7th Annual Outdoor Adventures Weekend begins Friday, September 17th and runs through Sunday, September 19th at Salt Fork State Park. This annual Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) event combines boating, fishing, and outdoor skills with other activities that focus on nature and conservation activities.

“We are excited to offer another weekend full of skills for building outdoor leisure, networking and fun this year’s OWOA weekend,” said ODNR Director Mary Mertz. “As a former participant, I encourage women of all ages to spend a weekend with us to discover new outdoor activities and make new friends.”

Hosted by ODNR’s Parks, Watercraft, and Wildlife departments, the weekend gives women the chance to try activities they may never have done before. This year’s program includes stand up paddling, kayaking, motor boating, fly fishing, inshore fishing, gun safety and shooting, archery, Dutch oven cooking, hiking, blue birds, nature photography and more.

Attendees will spend the weekend at the Salt Fork State Park Lodge and Conference Center outside of Cambridge in east Ohio. Salt Fork’s thousands of land and water areas offer plenty of areas to explore. Guests have access to the indoor and outdoor pools, the gym, the restaurant and lounge, and the professional golf course.

The event is open to all women aged 16 and over (minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian). The cost is $ 330 per person and includes accommodation, five meals, t-shirt, transportation between venues, and evening activities. 95 places are available for this year’s event. Registration for first-time participants begins on July 15th and registration for former participants starts on July 22nd. A full list of sessions and registration details can be viewed Here.
