Another thing to keep an eye on is online listening. According to Edison’s latest research, online listening, including AM/FM radio, continues to grow. Making it as easy as possible for consumers to find and listen to your radio station wherever they consume audio remains key to riding this wave.
The 2022 Infinite Dial study shows that 73% of the US population ages 12 and older (an estimated 209 million people) have listened to online audio in the past month, up from 68% in 2021.
And since the above demos are more likely to be heard online, according to Edison. The increase was primarily driven by listeners aged 35+, as the number of over-35s listening to online audio monthly increased by 13% year-on-year. Weekly online audio listening also increased to 67% of the US population ages 12 and older, up from 62% in 2021.
