Out of doors Journey Day supplied at Wildwood Park by Temple College Harrisburg’s HOOT program


The HOOT Healing Ourselves Outdoors Together program on the Temple University Harrisburg campus is offering a great day of adventure for local families on Sunday, November 6 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Wildwood Park, Harrisburg.

HOOT is designed to provide a way for the university to create safe spaces for outdoor recreation for neighboring communities.

The big adventure day includes a tree identification walk, scavenger hunt, crafts and nature journal.

Registration is available through the Temple University Harrisburg campus website.

Designed to give families new to the outdoors the opportunity to explore outdoor recreation in a safe and supported manner.

The program emphasizes the proven benefits of outdoor experiences for stress reduction, mental health, ADHD, obesity, heart disease and more.

It connects families in the community who are all new to the outdoors.

It offers both Big Adventure Day and other experiences, including at-home Zoom programs, free HOOT kits, and more.
