STEVENS PONT, Wisconsin (WSAW) – Stevens Point Parks, Rec. and the Department of Forestry will hold an in-person community input meeting Thursday evening.
The gathering provides an opportunity for people to provide feedback on the city’s parks, parkways, open spaces, and trails.
The Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan Community Input Meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. at the Rec Center at 2442 Sims Ave.
The face-to-face meeting will give everyone the opportunity to engage in more dialogue and provide more feedback than the survey would have allowed. Everyone is invited to participate, including those who have already taken part in the online survey.
The plan will guide improvement of the city’s parks, parkways, open spaces and walking paths. A CORP is required for the city to remain eligible for state and federal grants. According to a press release, CORP is helping to discover unmet parking and recreation needs at Stevens Point and offering strategies on how we can best meet the community’s recreation needs.
Click here to take the survey. The poll will remain open until July 15.
