CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – The city of Cleveland has ended its outdoor swimming season.
If you want to cool off on these hot days, you now have to use an indoor pool or one of the communal splash pools.
There are several reasons to close outdoor pools.
- The city budgets an eight-week outdoor swimming season annually.
- As in many cities in the country, there is a lack of lifeguards.
- In times of COVID-19, fewer people want to bathe in a public swimming pool.
There are 18 indoor pools at leisure centers across the city, open Monday through Friday from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM. and Saturdays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
