Outside summer time cinema sequence returns in Yakima | Discover Yakima


Free Sunday Cinema returns to Chesterley Park in Yakima this summer.

Yakima Parks and Recreation presents the outdoor summer cinema series Sundays through August 14 at the park at the corner of 40th Avenue and River Road.

Films begin at sunset (approximately 8:30pm) and admission is free. Participants should bring a blanket if they want to sit close to the screen, or patio chairs to see further back.

• July 17: Raiders of the Lost Ark (PG)

• July 24: Spirit Untamed (PG)

• July 31: “Field of Dreams” (PG)

• August 7: Spider-Man: No Way Home (PG-13)

• August 14: “Charm” (PG)

teen zone

Yakima Parks and Recreation is also offering free activities for teens this summer on Fridays at the Washington Fruit Community Center at 602 N. Fourth St. in Miller Park.

From 16:00 to 21:00 there are activities for 12 to 16 year olds. Participants must register at yakimaparks.com or by calling 509-576-6488. Registration forms are to be filled out on site for parents if they are not pre-registered.

Participants can play billiards, foosball, air hockey and pickleball. The Teen Zone will host PlayStation 5 FIFA and Mario Kart tournaments, as well as movie nights. Discounts are also possible.
