LA CROSSE, Wisconsin (WKBT) – It may not feel like it, but warmer weather is just around the corner.
Hundreds of people turned out to gear up at the first ever Outdoor Gear Swap at the former K-Mart building in La Crosse.
The event allows people to sell gently used outdoor gear they no longer want to people who do.
“This is our pilot year, but we’d really like to continue it in the community,” said Keachen Abing of the La Crosse Ski Patrol. “So we’re really learning a lot this year, bringing it to the community and letting people know it’s happening, but we’d love to see it continue.” “So if the community support is strong and the interest is there, we’d love for it to stay that way in the future.”
Organizers say several groups came together to make this event possible.
Three-Sixty Real Estate Solutions donated the former K-Mart space.
Groups like the Ski Patrol, the Outdoor Recreation Alliance, and the Mountain Bike Team brought it all together.
Proceeds from sales go directly to the organizations that helped run the event.
If you missed Saturday, the swap will be back on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m
