Police report kids in Southend climbing scaffolding


Police have warned children are risking their lives by climbing scaffolding.

Police officers have received reports of teenagers climbing scaffolding in Cluny Square, Southend.

The scaffolding is about four stories high.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We have had reports of young people climbing this scaffolding in the Cluny Square area. This is extremely dangerous and can cause serious injury. Please ensure your children are aware of the dangers of climbing structures like this.

“We’re patrolling the area and will take care of anyone climbing here, which shouldn’t be.”
