Pou brothers climb new route on Cashan North Face in Peru

Iker and Eneko Pou have made the first ascent of Bizirik on the North Face of Cashan (5716m) in Peru.

Just a few days after their first ascents on Urus Oeste, Iker and Eneko Pou have now forged a spectacular new mixed climb on the north face of Cashan, a 5716m peak in the nearby Rajucolta valley.

The Basque brothers set off early on 21 June from their bivy at 500 meters and required circa 8 hours to reach the summit, having breached difficulties up to M6 85° in the 980m line, and descended down the opposite side of the mountain before returning to base camp in a 13.5 hour round trip.

This is now the twelfth route opened by the Pou brothers in the Cordillera Blanca of the Andes, and the third this summer.
