LA PLATA, Md. – The Charles County Department of Recreation, Parks and Tourism invites citizens to contribute to the update of the Land Conservation, Parks and Recreation Plan. Citizens can do their part by taking an online survey on land conservation and outdoor recreation development in Charles County over the next five years. Charles County’s updated Land Conservation, Park and Recreation Plan will contain key information, goals, and achievable recommendations to guide the county’s management and improvement of the public park, open space, and protected land system. The current land protection, park and recreation plan as well as further information can be viewed online at

Maryland’s natural resources require that each county and Baltimore City submit a land protection, park, and recreation plan to the Department of Natural Resources and Planning for joint approval every five years.
