Highlights: The Hooks failed to get an offensive start in Saturday’s doubleheader against the RockHounds at Momentum Bank Ballpark. Midland starter Colin Peluse kept the hooks scoreless in Game 1 for seven innings. Hooks right-hander Cody Deason was the bright spot after hitting a seven in 4.2 innings. In the nightcap, the RockHounds were never behind after scoring eight runs in the first two innings. Wilyer Abreu homed a two-run home for Corpus Christi in the fourth inning and Enmanuel Valdez connected with a three-run double in the seventh.

Highlights: After two days of pitcher duels, the bats dominated Momentum Bank Ballpark in Midland on Friday. The Hooks and RockHounds played not only 12 innings, but 26 runs and 32 hits combined, and even a positional player threw himself into the game. However, the Hooks ended a two-game losing streak by scoring four runs in the 12th to claim the win. The big hit in the inning was a triple home run by Grae Kessinger. The Hooks tied the game at 10 in the eighth, forcing extra innings, and in the 11th the RockHounds retaliated with a run in the 11th to add an extra inning to the game.

Highlights: The RockHounds scored two runs late in the first as Jonah Bride and Devin Foyle each hit RBI doubles. It provided Midland with the offense it needed as starter Jack Cushing excelled as Midland has won twice in a row. The Hooks’ lone run was a solo shot by Enmaunel Valdez in the fifth inning.

WEDNESDAY 13 APRIL

Highlights: The Hooks pushed one run in the eighth inning, but it wasn’t enough for a one-run loss to the RockHounds at Momentum Bank Ballpark. The Hooks managed two hits against Midland starter Ryan Cusick, who had five scoreless innings with eight strikeouts. Bryan Arias supplied the lone Hooks run with an RBI groundout.

TUESDAY 12 APRIL

Corpus Christi (2-2) scored in every inning except the second and third to finish with 13 hits. Cesar Salazar led the hooks with four hits, 3 RBI and a two-run home run in the ninth inning. Luke Berryhill also went deep with a solo shot in the fifth. Hooks starter Jose Bravo allowed a run and hit four in five innings.
