SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – Children in the Sioux City area are learning and participating in a variety of outdoor activities at a day camp this week.

Mid-America Council’s War Eagle District five-day day camp brings together local Boy Scouts and preschoolers through 4th grade from Sanford Center and Beyond the Bell to participate in a variety of activities.

“Just get out in nature, have fun in nature, be with your friends, meet new friends too, and just get away from it all for a week,” said Dan Locke of the Mid-America Council.

The day camp runs from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm on Thursday and from 8:30 am to 1:00 pm on Friday. The camp ends this Friday.

It is currently taking place at the Hillview Recreation Area in Hinton.
