Registration for Milford Parks and Recreation Summer Camp is open

Milford Parks and Recreation is accepting registrations for its Summer Fun Club which begins June 27th and runs through August 5th from 8:30am to 2:30pm. There are three age groups, namely 6 and 7 year olds, 8 and 9 year olds and 10 and 11 year olds.

“We’re accepting 36 participants with 12 in each age group,” said Doreen Wrightsman, administrative assistant. “Camp is held at Mispillon Elementary School Mondays through Thursdays and Milford Parks and Recreation Office on Fridays.”

The cost for the Summer Fun Club is $150 per week per child, including excursions. The first week is only $125 as it is only a 4 day week. Breakfast and lunch are provided by the Milford School District Monday through Thursday, but parents should pack lunch on Friday. There’s no refrigeration, so Wrightsman explained that parents should pack lunch in an insulated lunch bag.

“We have events scheduled each day, so parents should check the events calendar each day to ensure their child is appropriately dressed,” Wrightsman said. “Please send them in tennis shoes and no open toed shoes as this is a safety hazard.”

Parents should make sure their child wears sunscreen when going to summer camp as there are outdoor activities every day. Since there are water park excursions, children must be able to swim. Because Milford Parks and Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen items, Wrightsman stated that children should not bring games, phones, toys, or electronic devices.

“Our Summer Fun Club offers participants the opportunity to do fun projects, play games, and have great adventures,” said Wrightsman. “After registration, please print your receipt. We will send you the required liability and registration form by email. Please complete, print and return to our office at 207 Franklin Street. You can also email the form to [email protected].”
