Tahoe Nationwide Forest hiring recreation employees for 2023 season


TRUCKEE, Calif. — The Tahoe National Forest is hiring temporary and seasonal recreational staff to fill a variety of positions. Seasonal jobs help the Tahoe National Forest fulfill its mission by contributing to forest health, resource conservation, and public recreation infrastructure. Interested applicants are asked to apply by January 19th.

“Seasonal workers are essential to maintaining the Tahoe National Forest’s robust recreation program,” said Recreation Officer Hillary Santana. “If you have a passion for outdoor recreation, land management, and customer service, these jobs are for you! Seasonal workers are the glue that holds our recreational program together and allows us to continue to offer so many recreational opportunities to our audience.”

There are multiple locations in the forest including Camptonville, Foresthill, Grass Valley, Nevada City, Sierraville and Truckee. The positions range from road construction to maintenance and monitoring of campsites:

  • Forest Aid (Recreation)
  • Forest technician (free time)
  • Forest Engineer (Wilderness/Trails)
  • workers (road workers)
  • maintenance worker
