Temps are climbing, probably setting new data

MADISON (WKOW) – Stay hydrated and cool over the weekend and watch as we potentially break new heat records.

The jet stream has brought much of the Midwest under the ridge or heat dome, which means that for the next few days, southern Wisconsin will see not only sunny skies, but warm temperatures as well.

The UV index will be very high by the weekend / start of the next work week. Make sure you put on the sunscreen, wear sunglasses, and stay hydrated and cool.

Clouds will be few and far between because most of our systems will remain in our north.

With all of the sun and clear skies expected, not to mention southerly winds, temperatures will approach, if not match, previous weekend records. It’s also a good weekend to be outside, but you can do activities like fishing or running either early or later to avoid the heat.
