Brief: Camping rules are not enforced in Rotary Park

Camping rules are not enforced in Rotary Park
If one comes, all come! Unrestricted camping now allowed in Rotary Park, courtesy of Mayor Michelle Staples.
Law enforcement officials have been instructed to speak softly and kindly to long-term campers, but cannot really enforce the current nighttime order and force illegal campers to move on. They also cannot issue fines for administrative offences. A notorious family of well-known heroin addicts has now accepted the invitation and moved in.
Here’s a suggestion. Why not designate Charles Hoey Park and City Square as designated long-term campgrounds? Both are very close to all the facilities that the campers use and this would allow the Mayor and Councilors who don’t actually live in Duncan as well as the tourists to see the true face of our town.
