Tenting is not going to be allowed at Boise, Nampa and McCall places of work for elk tag gross sales

To prevent disruption to public service and to ensure a fair and orderly sale of moose zone cap signs, Idaho Fish and Game will not permit camping at its Boise headquarters or at the Nampa and McCall regional offices.

Clipped moose zones—excluding the sawtooth zone—will go on sale July 11 at 10 a.m. Mountain Daylight Time. The Sawtooth Zone moose tags will go on sale July 13 at 10:00 am MDT for in-person purchases and at 1:00 pm MDT for online purchases. Sawtooth tags are split evenly between in-person and online sales.

Fish and Game’s regional offices have had problems in recent years with customers camping out in Fish and Game’s parking lots and property for days ahead of the sale. The congestion has resulted in disruption to customer service and damage to facilities and sanitation issues.

To eliminate these problems, camping, overnight parking, and cooking are not permitted at the Boise, Nampa, or McCall Fish and Game offices before sale hours. Chairs are allowed for people waiting, but no sleeping bags or other camping gear. The bathrooms in the regional offices are only available during regular business hours, ie Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

“We understand that these brands are highly sought after and very important to our moose hunters, and we appreciate people’s desire to get them,” said Josh Royse, Supervisor of Fish and Game’s Southwest Region. “But we have unfortunately seen bad behavior in recent years, including camping up to a week before sales dates in areas that are not suitable for it. We want to eliminate this situation and make this moose tag sale orderly for all hunters and Fish and Game staff.”

Hunters can purchase elk cap tags from any licensing and tagging vendor statewide, and customers must follow each vendor’s rules and contact other Fish and Game regional offices in advance to see what those regions’ cap policies are Selling elk zone tags.

Hunters are also reminded that anyone who has applied for a controlled moose hunt will not be eligible to purchase a restricted zone moose tag until five days after the tags go on sale.
