Camping season reservations are now open in BC
Beginning at 7:00 am on March 21, outdoor enthusiasts can reserve their BC Parks campsites
Spring is here and with it reservations for BC Park’s campgrounds are now open.
Reservations open Monday (March 21) at 7:00 am for frontcountry and backcountry locations up to two months in advance. Group spaces will open for reservations on March 24th at 7am. Reservations are expected to fill up quickly as provincial-managed campgrounds will reopen to users from outside BC
Over the past few years, potential campers have had many problems booking reservations as the Discover Camping website crashes on busy days. BC Parks made more than 350,000 campsite reservations in 2021, the most on record.
BC Parks redesigned the website in response to camper feedback. The new and improved website offers more flexible search options, information on nearby facilities with large photos of campsites, an interactive calendar showing availability and booking preferences saved in customer accounts.
“As more people explore British Columbia’s spectacular natural beauty, we’re improving the online services they rely on to plan their visits to BC Parks,” said George Heyman, Secretary of State for Environment and Climate Change Strategy. “Providing a more reliable, responsive, and user-friendly reservation service will better serve the needs of people who want to access and connect with nature by easily identifying available camping opportunities in provincial parks.”
In addition to site improvements, the province is investing $21.5 million over the next three years to develop new campgrounds, hiking trails and upgraded facilities.
