The Greatest Tenting Spots In CS:GO

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a methodical first-person shooter. You’ll need to study his cards, know his angles, and make quick decisions if you want to prevail. Therefore, knowing where a camper might be hiding or how to use campsites to their advantage is very important.

Many players will often ridicule camping when they are on the receiving end. That shouldn’t be a reason to give it up. It’s a viable strategy that can reward you with kills or even a win. Of course, if you know where to look for a camper, you can clear these spots before they surprise you.

10/10 Reverse of B on Anubis

A player crouches in the corner at the Back of B callout on Anubis.

The Back of B location on the Anubis map is a great campsite. It provides an overview of the site itself and many of the ways to get there. You can jump into this area and stand with your back against the wall, knowing there’s no way to sneak behind you.

The best way to counter this when you notice an enemy has camped there is with some gear. Throw a shard there or smoke up the entire platform so they can’t see. Then you can plant them or rush them to catch them off guard.

9/10 Security doors in case of injury

The player looks through the broken glass window at Security Doors on Breach.

The Security Doors on Breach is a campsite that gives control of the B-Bomb site. It’s also a good place to camp for a post-plant scenario. You may have to make some noise by shooting out the glass to reach it, but if you don’t come from the front door.

If you camp here, be sure to pick a wall to hug. Each side offers a viewing angle and protects you from most of the space below. It’s a long journey to go through the door to stop a camper here, so rely on your gear and try to take them out when an enemy is here.

8/10 catwalk on cache

A player stands on Cache's catwalk location.

Capturing the high ground in CS:GO allows for better positioning and gives an advantage in firefights. One of the better high-up spots in the game is the Catwalk on Cache. You can climb a ladder to get there and keep an eye on A Bombsite.

You can camp here on the L-shaped walkway to protect the site, or take a peek at the various trails that approach it. If the enemy is the one camping here, you have to hope that he’s looking at the opposite lane than the one you choose so you can shoot first.

7/10 Pit on Inferno

The CS:GO player peeks through the broken wall into the Pit of Inferno.

In the far corner of Inferno is the pit. This is near the A bomb site and there is no way to flank it. This makes it easy for you to intercept anyone who comes onto the site, but it also means it is difficult for you to escape.

In a CS:GO game, you should choose your campsites carefully. This is one that can work a few times, but don’t rely on it every single round. Make the best of it while you can because the opposing team will surely send frag grenades and screw it up with multiple players if you keep causing them trouble.

6/10 A construction truck on the overpass

A CS:GO player camps near the broken truck at A Site on Overpass.

Overpass has many twists and turns in map design. However, not many of the corridors and rooms camp well. If you’re looking for a solid campsite on the map, position yourself on the street corner. It’s next to the broken semi truck near the A bomb site.

You can move back and forth from the truck to the wall. This gives you a variety of cover from different areas that enemies could be approaching. Make sure the rest of the team covers the other parts of the map as this will only work if the other team makes a push towards A.

5/10 Reverse of A on dizziness

In Back of A on Vertigo, a player stands on scaffolding to look through an unfinished wall.

The location on the map known as Back of A on Vertigo is a difficult campground to get to, but definitely worth it in the early rounds of a CS:GO match. Go to the Back of A area and crouch onto the crates near the short scaffolding. Then you have a fantastic view of A Bombsite.

You’ll need to peek far to see the entire terrain, and if you don’t, the enemy team can sneak through and slash around to flank you. It’s an ideal high-altitude location, although it can be countered by simply hiding behind the various crates or going to B.

4/10 roof on nuke

A player stands on top of a ventilation shaft on Nuke's roof.

Nuke is a map with lots of sharp corners to hide around. These don’t offer nearly as much campground fun as the rooftop. It doesn’t miss any of the pages; most of the time so don’t expect anyone to be here. That makes it dangerous.

If someone turns around the outside of the building, they might try to climb onto the roof. You’ll regret it if you wait for her upstairs. Just avoid the area if you can’t get to it first, as an enemy might settle there. It might not offer a lot of kill opportunities, but information like a possible flank and the sound of footsteps are invaluable from this position.

3/10 Apartments on Mirage

In the corner of Apartments on Mirage, a player is camping on a table.

Mirage is one of the most popular CS:GO maps. This leads to many sneaky spots that players have learned over the years. The apartment area is particularly striking. No one expects someone to camp in a place they pass often.

From the apartments you can sit in a corner and wait for someone to come by or you can peek at the B-site from the exit. Just don’t get caught looking away when an enemy decides to travel through the building. This is one of those rare spots where a second camper could help watch the other entrance.

2/10 B site on the train

A player stands on a wagon near the B site on the train map.

The majority of high altitude campsites in CS:GO are the ones no one ever thinks of checking. This will never be more obvious than the B-site on the train. You can hop on one wagon and jump on the tops of several others, allowing you to sit in multiple places in an area.

Most players have their crosshairs at ground level at head level. When they enter the B Site area, they will have a very difficult time aiming their aim at you in a wagon upstairs. Unfortunately, this goes both ways.

1/10 CT start at dust 2

A player returns to the corner of CT Start on Dust 2.

Dust 2 is an iconic Counter-Strike: Global Offensive map. It’s perhaps the most iconic map in the franchise and home to one of the game’s most besieged locations. This would be the CT starting area where the counter-terrorist team spawns.

It allows you to see paths to A and B right from your spawn. And if the terrorist side gets there, they can plant the bomb and control the area with ease. A well-placed smoke grenade will obstruct all vision and allow you to progress farther, but always check here when traversing the streets of Dust 2.
