Bigger, brighter, better! A new ice rink is coming to Texas’ Christmas capital

Grapevine, Texas [Nov. 15, 2022] – Get ready for Grapevine’s newest attraction in the Texas® Capital of Christmas on November 18th – Peace Plaza Ice Rink. The new Grapevine attraction will be the largest outdoor ice rink in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and will be one of many holiday entertainment and celebration options in Grapevine this season. Open November 18, 2022 through January 8, 2023, the 4,500-square-foot ice rink is located in Peace Plaza in front of Grapevine Central Station, home of Harvest Hall. On the rink, skaters have a beautiful view of the towering traditional living Christmas tree, which stands over 50 feet tall. The living tree features larger-than-life Christmas ornaments that visitors have come to know and love in every season.

“Just when you thought the Texas Capital of Christmas couldn’t get any bigger, visitors can now enjoy the largest outdoor ice rink in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area,” said PW McCallum, Executive Director, Grapevine Convention & Visitors Office. “We are excited to add this great new attraction and we look forward to the fun vacation memories visitors will create at the Peace Plaza Ice Rink.”

Visitors to Texas’ Christmas Capital will not only enjoy the magnificent ice rink, but will also fall in love with all the holiday attractions within walking distance. Other exciting attractions include photos with Santa near the North Pole District, fun shopping and delicious dining along Historic Main Street, the famous North Pole Express, and a plethora of photo ops that will fill photo albums for years to come. Other notable events include the 34th Annual Carol of Lights (November 21), the Parade of Lights (December 1), and the new Holly Jolly Bar at Harvest Hall in Third Rail and more!


The Peace Plaza Ice Rink will offer more than 300 ice skating opportunities once the rink opens to the public on Friday, November 18th. Tickets are $20 per person per hour and can be purchased online at or at the venue, subject to availability. Private skating time at the rink can be purchased in advance for $500 per hour.
